Can Oxymorphone Be Detected In Urine Drug Test?

default
Posted on Fri, 27 Nov 2015
Question: I see a pain med doctor. I have to have surgery on my neck. My vertebrae is going into my spinal canal. I am prescribed oxymorphone, instant release, 10 mg. I had taken one the morning of by snorting it (it works better that way) and two the day before. That last being taken the day before around 2 p.m. How does the urine screen come up negative for oxymorphone in the first place? Now, they are sending it to Florida for confirmation. Will this test show the truth? Or is there a possibility it will be negative also? The only thing I did was not take the four recommended and only took two a day for two days leading up to the appointment day and one in the morning the day of with the intention of only taking one more.

Brief Answer:
if they are looking for opiates in your urine they will be positive

Detailed Answer:
Hi thanks for your question.

If they are looking opiates in your urine and you have taken oxymorphine nasally then they will find them in your urine.

The surgery on your neck sounds very important if you have spinal canal narrowing secondary to your disc prolapse. Left untreated this can cause myelopathy where you will have balance problems, urinary and bowel dysfunction and ultimately paralysis.

I would do all that you can to facilitate this surgery even if it means reducing your opiate use.

Best wishes

All I needed to do was quit smoking. Over the last five days I have had only four puffs. Thank you so much for your answer and the best wishes! Have a great evening!
