Can Rapaflo Be Taken Instead Of Tamsulosin?
BPH and reduced urine flow
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
I am sorry to hear that you are having problem with urine flow at night despite use of tamsulosin. This is common problem and you may benefit from adding a medication that will shrink the prostate like proscar. Switching to rapaflo will not help as it is the same type of medication. Tamsulosin and rapaflo are called alpha blockers and help by reducing the muscle tightness around the bladder muscles. By adding proscar you can reduce the size of the prostate which may also help improve urine flow by reducing the obstruction from the prostate. It will take several months of proscar 6-12 months before you will see any difference.
