Can Risperdal Cause Change In Behavior?

Question: Friend 56 year old male looks and acts like a zoombie. No expressions, little reactions, only talks when asked a question. Can drive a car safely. when asked if he was on medication answered Resperdal. This is a big chance in his behavior. Usually kidding or depressed. Could this med inhibit his behavior this much.

Risperdal contain antipsychotic drug risperidone.
This can cause extrapyramidal symptoms which include expression-less or mask face, tremors, rigidity in body as side effects.

The symptoms in your friend are most probably the side effects of the drug risperdal.

I think he should be prescribed central anti-cholinergic drugs like trihexyphenidyl. This will take care of the side effects of risperdal.

Kindly consukt his treating doctor.
