Can SOB, Choking And Cough Be Related To Cervical Spine?
Pulse sequences in multiple planes no I'VE contrast.
Question: I have been noticing some shortness of breath ( just a few seconds) but have been choking at night,my children have notice this also, I have also been coughing ( sometimes) trying to clear my throat. Had heart work-up with stress test, heart is good and strong with no problems. I have had choking with food intake,Could this problem be in my cervical spine? Was in a serious head on accident 30 years ago, hospitalized many weeks.
Should I tell my doctor? I always just chalk it up to being 62.
Not related to cervical spine problem.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The mild foraminal stenosis at C5-C6 and an inflammatory change at spinous process is not related to shortness of breath or choking.
The changes in the cervical spine are age related degenerative changes of the spine and are very minor changes. The choking and shortness of breath can be related to anxiety, stress or a neurological cause.
You need to discuss these symptoms with a neurologist and get related investigations done. Do decrease your caffeine and alcohol intake ( if any) and try to remain stress free.
I hope this answers your query.
