Can STD Be Contracted Through Semen Contact With Lips?

Question: Hello,

My friend pranked me by having me smell a tissue paper which had some recently dried sperm, while smelling it touched my lips. Can I get an STD from that?

I appreciate your concern

Based on the history that you described , its highly unlikely that you will contract an STD especially if there was no open wound on your lips. Clean the lips thoroughly with diluted povidone solution.

Hello again.

Ideally it should be washed with an antiseptic such as diluted povidone. However you can use plain salt water or normal saline to do so as well.
