Can STD Be Contracted Through Unprotected Oral Sex?

6 weeks ago, for the first time outside of my marriage, I performed unprotected oral sex (fellatio and cunnilingus) with a girl I don't know in Mexico. After the encounter, she told me that she used to be a prostitute, but not anymore and she assured me that she is clean (not that I believe it). One week after the encounter, I started to feel some discomfort while peeing, the need of frequent peeing, and noticed a transparent discharge coming from the penis (I am not sure if it was an infection or just me being paranoid).
I went to and STD clinic and they gave me antibiotics for both chlamydia and gonorrhea, before they got the test results back (which came back negative). The discharge and discomfort disappeared afterwards.
Now 6 weeks after the encounter, I started to notice blood on the toilet paper.
I want to add:
The oral sexual contact happened only once with this women and it was only oral (lips kissing, fellatio, and cunnilingus).
The blood on the toilet paper is bright red. I have been noticing it for 3 days now.
I don't feel a lesion or ulcers in the area, but rather the area feels inflamed.
I have not developed any other symptoms. Every now and then, I get transparent discharge from the penis (could be a normal discharge not related to anything).
HIV test returned negative, but I know it is too early to say (and too unlikely to be transmitted from such encounter).
I am really worried, and I don't know how to get peace of mind.
What are the chance that this is a symptom for STD (e.g., genital warts, Herpes)?
I also want to know if it is at all possible to get an STD with symptoms that appear in the anus from an encounter that was completely oral (fellatio and cunnilingus) and with no apparent sores of lesions on her?
Fresh blood on toilet paper is most likely hemorrhoids.

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Blood on toilet paper is most likely from hemorrhoids. The symptoms you had is most likely from gonorrhoea or chlamydia. Antibiotic therapy might have cleared it. Better to have a swab or urine test for chlamydia and gonorrhoea again to make sure.
If it is clear selection from penis then nothing to worry. Genital warts or herpes can be spread from oral sex. But herpes symptoms are different. There will be burning sensation and itching in such case.
Just have a digital examination to rule out hemorrhoids. Stool softeners and hemorrhoid creams will be helpful to clear it.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.

The weird discoloration on my lips is more like a white pumps. They don't hurt and I don't feel them. I just see them in the mirror. They go over the entirely of my upper lip and a little bit of the corners and lower.

Looks like candidiasis.

Thank you for your follow up.
I have gone through your picture. It looks like candidiasis. It can be the after effect of antibiotic therapy you had. Using clotrimazole cream will be helpful.
Also go for a HIV Duo test to completely rule out HIV.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.

Antibiotic therapy can cause dysbacteriosis and it can cause fungal infections like candidiasis. Even if you had antibiotic therapy 5 weeks ago it is possible. Reduced immune system and cortcosteroid therapy is another reason. In thinking that way better to rule out HIV. So you can go for HIV Duo test which is good sensitive test include antigen and antibody tests.
Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.

I thought HIV is highly unlikely due to the nature of the encounter (strictly oral). Can this be something like herpes or warts?
If this is candidiasis, how does it get treated? or does it disappear by its own? (how long to wait before to expect it to go?).
I know I just noticed it yesterday, but can it be fordyce spots?
Treatment with anti fungals is required.

It looks like candidiasis. Doesn't look like fordyce spots. It should be treated. It can spread to other oral parts with out treatment. You can treat initially with clotrimazole cream. If there is no improvement then oral antifungal agents like fluconazole will be needed. I usually give fluconazole tab weekly once for 1 month. It can take take 1 to 2 weeks to disappear if treated. Taking probiotics will be helpful for early recovery.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.

I am also having diarrhea and blood in toilet paper (which you mentioned that likely it is from hemorrhoids). Is it possible that both symptoms are connected? (small white bumps on lips and hemorrhoids like symptoms?
Dysbacteriosis can cause diarrhea also.

Welcome again.
Thank you for your follow up query.
Dysbacteriosis can cause diarrhea also. But it can be a sign of immunodeficiency also. That is why i asked you to do HIV test again.
If it is dysbacteriosis then taking probiotics will be helpful. Probiotics like bifidobacter or sacharomces boulardii is good in such case.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
