Brief Answer:
FDA Category C - best not used during pregnancy.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Seroquel is quetiapine.
This drug belongs to FDA category C.
That means that the risk to babies cannot be ruled out.
Animal studies have shown evidence of toxicity but for obvious reasons, there are inadequate human studies on this.
The drug is not recommended for use in pregnant women.
The dose does not matter, at the minimum intended dose, it is known to be associated with risks to the fetus.
If you are planning a pregnancy, it is best to talk to your psychiatrist and work out alternative solutions.
All the best.
please feel free to discuss further.
