Hi XXXX
Thanks for your query at HCM
I am Dr Sheetal Verma answering to your query
I went through your query and understand your concern.

You are having cold and flu and your are an hypertensive. What is your current blood pressure? Do you have any other heart or lung problem? If BP is normal and no major illness there is no harm in taking the theraflu.
Lisinopril hctz contains lisinopril(angiotension converting enzyme inhibitor) and hydrochlorothiazide (diuretic) used to treat hypertension. It usually causes dizziness, headache, cough and fatigue. Whereas Theraflu common OTC agents for cold and flu which contains acetaminophen (paracetamol) (1000 mg), chlorpheniramine maleate (4 mg), dextromethorphan hydrobromide (30 mg), and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride (60 mg) which are decongestant, antihistamine, cough suppressant, and analgesic combination. The decongestant works by constricting blood vessels and reducing swelling in the nasal passages. The antihistamine works by blocking the action of histamine, which helps reduce symptoms such as watery eyes and sneezing. The analgesic and cough suppressant work in the brain to decrease pain and to reduce a dry or unproductive cough.Theraflu usually interacts with Beta-blockers (eg, propranolol), COMT inhibitors (eg, tolcapone), furazolidone, indomethacin, isoniazid, MAO inhibitors (eg, phenelzine), sodium oxybate (GHB), or tricyclic antidepressants (eg, amitriptyline) and least chances with anti-hypertensive drug that you are currently taking lisinopril. There is no harm taking both the medicines. You can eat and it is safe to take under the guidance of health care provider.
Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: severe stomach pain; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.Eat healthy protein rich diet, multivitamins supplements, iron and vitamin D. But remember the treatment for flu by medications is only second line of management. I strongly recommend you can take flu vaccine for best safety in future.Try to adopt life style modifications to control your blood pressure(Salt restriction, exercise, avoid oily food).

Hope I answered your question.
If you have any clarifications you can discuss I would be happy to take a follow-up query.
If no then you can close the query and rate the answer.
Wish you best of health.
