Can Tonact Plus Replaced With Nebicard-5?

Question: earlier i used to take aten 50 which i used to take more than 3 yrs, now i had shown my lipid profile results to another Cardiologist who changed the medicine as Nebicard 5 .i had by pass in 2003 and used to take Tonact plus at night , ecospirin 125 mg in morning besides Flavedon MR both the time. Is it ok for the change to Nebicard 5 and stopping Tonact plus

Welcome to HCM

It is OK to switch over to Nebicard from Aten (same class / same function / less side effects)
Do NOT discontinue Tonact plus - It is a combination of fibrate and statin / It may only be stopped if the Lipid profile is normal. With a history of bypass, an LDL cholesterol of 70 mg or less should be the aim. Even with normal cholesterol, it is wiser to continue - because statins have effects beyond cholesterol - like anti oxidant and plaque stabilisation...
