Can Trajenta Be Taken For Diabetes?
Question: I am a Type-2 Diabetic patient using Gemer DS-1, which I feel is not giving me desired result along with some Ayurvedic formulations. I feel weakness and timidity throughout. Of late, I have read about Linagliptin which is sold under the brand name Trajenta, which has to be taken once a day. Would be grateful if you kindly suggest me if I can go for Trajenta and, if so, what should be the dose, etc. and other relevant information about this drug in effectively controlling Type-2 Diabetes. I am looking for XXXXXXX doctors. Regards,

Brief Answer:
Use of Trajenta once a day can be suggested.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your question.
Noted your concern.
In my practice I usually prefer use of DPP4 inhibitor (Linagliptin is one of them) after using metformin in maximal tolerable dose (at least 1500mg per day in divided dose) depending upon blood sugar level.
Usually Trajenta can be used 2.5mg or 5mg once day depending upon blood sugar level.
In your case use of Trajenta can be suggested but dose will depend upon your current blood sugar level on current medication (Gemer DS 1)
Hope this helps you.

THANKS FOR THE ANSWER. I WILL GET MY RECENT BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVEL (FASTING & PP) TESTED AND LET YOU ABOUT THE SAME WITHIN A FEW DAYS. MEANWHILE, I WANT TO STOP TAKING GEMER DS-1 AS IT IS NOT GIVING ME DESIRABLE RESULT WHEN I WOULD START USING OF TRAJENTA. CAN YOU KINDLY SUGGEST ME THE DOSE, POTENCY AND SUITABLE TIME OF TAKING TRAJENTA WHEN I WOULD START USING IT AS LONE MEDICINE FOR BALANCING MY BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVEL. REGARDS.
Brief Answer:
Get back with test results.
