Can Trazodone Be Taken Along With Seroquel And Venlafaxine?
Question: I take seroquel and have diabetes. Is this safe? Also, can I take trazodone with seroquel and venlafaxine?
Brief Answer:
it requires monitoring for blood glucose
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
seroquel may indeed impair diabetes control and glucose levels. It may also increase the risk for diabetic complications. In most cases no serious impairment would be evident though. Monitoring of blood sugar is recommended when starting seroquel.
Trazodone with venlafaxine may increase the risk for serotonin syndrome which is very serious. Trazodone with seroquel may predispose to serious arrhythmias. The same applies for venlafaxine and seroquel.
So concurrent use of these drugs is not recommended unless your doctor believes that the expected benefit outweighs the risks.
I hope it helps!
Kind Regards!
