Can Tylenol And Sertraline Be Taken Together?
Question: Hi,
I was taking 100mg of Sertraline until 18th of March and than got a food poison very bad and got into panic attack. I also got a urine infection and was prescribed Antibiotic. Since 24 of March until now I am taking only 150mg Sertraline, I am feeling now calmer but my head is not clear that causes me nervousness. Can I take Tylenol with Sertraline and is this feeling in my head eventually will go away-is this a part of side effects of Sertraline? My appetite got back and I don't feel nauseous anymore but still feel worried about the heaviness in my head.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.
Yes, it is perfectly safe to take Tylenol with sertraline. There is no significant interaction between them.
The heaviness in your head may be related to the recent food poisoning, or it may be related to the higher dose of sertraline. If it is caused by the sertraline, this feeling will very likely go away with time as your brain and body adjust to the higher dose. Typically withing 4-6 weeks this side effect will resolve.

thank you for the answer, but I do have a question, I still don't feel comfortable when the head has some wierd reactions. I am light headed or heavy headed and I feel all kind of reactiond in my brain which causes me nervousness. Is it a part of adjusting to higher dosage? I also feel very tired and wick. maybe because now I am more relexed and my body is adjusting after constant stress.

Followup
Detailed Answer:
This may indeed be related to adjusting to the higher dosage. It may also be related to recent food poisoning, or it may be a symptom of anxiety which Zoloft will help treat. In 4-6 weeks if the symptoms remain the dosage should be readjusted at that time.
