Among the over the counter medications only low dose Tylenol can be allowed (only if there is no ongoing alcohol use or jaundice). The other Pain management medicines are Fentanyl, morphine and tramadol may be tried. You will need a prescription for these medicines and tramadol should be avoided in severe liver disease.
