Can Valdoxan And Crestor Be Taken Together?

Question: Hi, it is 2 years i am taking valdoxan every night, but recently another doctor said i have to take Crestor every night too. I just wonder of there is any interaction between these medicines. This is 3 days that i start taking crestor and i have intense dizziness.

Hi,

I went through your query and can understand your concern regarding using two medications together.

Valdoxan is Agomelatine which is used as an anti-depressant and Crestor is rosuvastatin which is an anti-lipidemic agent. Both can be taken together safely and do not manifest any interaction. You don't need to worry about that.

Dizziness can be a side effect of crestor by itself. Usually, it is self limiting. You should talk to your doctor about this. If it does not go off by itself, it would be required to stop the drug and change it to some other agent.
