Can Verapamil And Clonidine Be Taken Together?
Question: can I take verapamil and clonidine at the same time?
Brief Answer:
No do not take.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
Caution is recommended in combining clonidine and verapamil therapy, even in patients who do not have sinus or AV node dysfunction. The two drugs may act synergistically on both the AV node and the peripheral circulation.
In the studies conducted:
To report two cases of a possible adverse interaction between clonidine and verapamil resulting in atrioventricular (AV) block in both patients and severe hypotension in one patient.
Any query do follow up.
Take care.

if I have been taking clonidine daily, how long do I have to be off it before I can take the verapamil?
Brief Answer:
Half an hour.
Detailed Answer:
You should not take both of them at single time. just half an hour gap in between them could be alright.
I didn't mean you should stop clonidine. Just be clear don't take at a time. Have a look at your Blood pressure on regular intervals. Your Systolic BP should not go down below 100mmhg.
Take care.
