Can Viagra Be Taken Whilst On Bisoprolol Fumarate?
Be careful when using Viagra with Bisoprolol (reduce Viagra doses)!
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for asking on HCM!
I reviewed your current treatment and would like to explain as follows:
Viagra and Bisoprolol have an important interaction, as Bisoprolol may increase the level or effect of Viagra by decreasing its hepatic clearance (elemination). So their concomitant use should be monitored carefully, and a decrease of Viagra dose should be considered.
Viagra and Clopidogrel do not have any important interaction, so they may be used safely together.
Viagra and Atorvastatin show a serious and potentially dangerous interaction, as viagra increases toxicity of Atorvastatin, and may increase the risk of myopathy. Their combination is contraindicated.
So to conclude, there is no problem to combine Viagra and Clopidogrel, but you should be careful when using Viagra and Bisoprolol together (reduce Viagra dose), and you have to avoid combination of Viagra with Atorvastatin.
Hope to have been helpful
Felel free to ask me whenever you need.
Greetings! Dr. Iliri
I used to take Viagra 100mg once a while before my CABG procedure in 2011. Is it OK if I skip Bisoprolol & Athorvastatin on the day I intend to use viagra? I have not taken viagra since my CABG. Also can generic sidenafil citrate be used instead of Pfizer? In the case of 'Tadalafil' I experienced back pain running to the thighs . Is this high risk for me . Thanks & Best Regards,
You can use generic, or brand name of Viagra, but with some precautions.

Hello again!
When using Viagra you should avoid Atorvastatin, but you don't need to stop Bisoprolol. Just be careful, reduce the dose of Viagra! You can use a generic or the brand name (Pfizer) of Viagra.
Regarding Tadalafil, it is safe when taking concomitantly with Atorvastatin (as there is not any known interactions between them). Meanwhile, it shows significant interaction with Bisoprolol, as it may increase the effect of Bisoprolol by their synergism, and may show increased risk of hypotension.
Wish you a good health! Dr. Iliri
