Can Viagra Be Taken With Depakote And Zyprexa?

Question: Will viagra should not be taken with depakote and zyprexa ? Or there is no effect?
Brief Answer:
provided liver & heart are ok, its safe
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to hcm!
Viagra is frequently co prescribed with depakote for the management of sexual dysfunction. There is usually not much probelm provided the patient has normal caridc and liver status.
So, if otherwise body is fine then the combination is ok to take. Start with low dose initially.
There are cases when high dose of viagra is required to manage the sexual comlaint efectively, espically when depakote dosage is towards high side.
##There is no issue with use of viagra along with zyprexa in an otherwise health male.

Please help with an effective schedule to taper off depakene which i am taking for mood disorder and having lots of adverse affects . I will get feedback from my doc but i would want your feedback. I am taking 1250 mg daily and i am 96 kg. thank you
Brief Answer:
250mg taken away every 1-2 week
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Depakote ia a very good molecule but has notorious side effects. I can help you in tapering it but i want to tell you that you must take some mood stabilizer to control bipolar diaorder. Absence of mood stabilizer is very harmful for life and carrier. You are only 36years old (as mentioned) in query & have a long life ahead of you.
Bipolar disorder is a chrnoic disorder and episodes can come again.
One can taper it by reducing 250mg at a time; wait for 1-2 weeks to watch for any unexpected response; if all is fine, further 250mg is taken away. Like this every 1-2 week we take out 250mg & finally stop. One can do it in a fast way also but that needs close monitoring of the patient to check the emergence of new episode.
There are some new and better mood stabilizer available which are good and safe. When we change to another mood stabilizer, we cross taper the drugs...increase the new one and taper down and stop the depakote.
Its necessary that you take a mood stabilizer. You can discuss the tapering above with your doctor as well.
Hope this helps you.
Please feel free to ask more questions for clarification.

What is the best self test online to check if i am bipolar or not
Brief Answer:
the tests are only supportive & not diagnostic
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
There are several tests which can help in checking if someone has bipolar disorder or not. These tests are only supportive in nature and never diagnostic. These tests should not be completely relied on. Only detailed clinical interview can make a definitive diagnosis.
The tests are-
1. bipolar disorder checklist
2. bipolar disorder questionnaire
If there is any problem and you doubt the diagnosis, I can talk to you on phone and can interview you. Or you may talk to any locally available psychiatrist for a second opinion. I can speak and understand Hindi and English language.
Hope the reply is useful
