Can Xanax Be Taken After A Colonoscopy With Propofol?
The dose is acceptable
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.
I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
Taking 0.5 xanax is very normal and repeating the same is still fine. Not a very big issue, so please dont panic. Many of my patients are taking 1 mg of xanax and they are all doing fine. It will cause excess sedation and lead to a a deep sleep. You will not stop breathing with 1mg of xanax. You may even wake up on time and the effect will wane of after 12 hours. At the maximum , you may have some heavy headedness next day morning like a hangover after alcohol. Nothing more will happen.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.

Clarifications
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Sorry for misunderstanding. Please clarify one aspect so that there is no further confusion.
YOu mentioned "I had a colonoscopy with propofol this morn."
I understand that: You have already undergone colonoscopy today morning under propofol and there after at night you have taken Xanax 1mg. And now you are concerned about the interaction of the propofol and xanax, both which you have already taken.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Looking forward to hear from you,
Kind regards

Nothing to worry
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the clarification.
Propofols peak concentratin and effect wanes off very quickly and the interaction of xanax with propofol is not significant. Moreover the dose of xanax that you have taken is very small, so there is no need to panic.
You can continue your daily life style and mostly you will wake up the morning afresh.
Tehre is nothing you need to do at this stage.
Kind regards
Dr. Srikanth Reddy
