Can Xanax Be Taken After A Colonoscopy With Propofol?
Question: I had a colonoscopy with propofol this morn. I take .5 xanax to sleep and took one a few hours ago. I'm panicked and afraid to sleep because I might stop breathing. I have to work tomorrow help!

I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
Taking 0.5 xanax is very normal and repeating the same is still fine. Not a very big issue, so please dont panic. Many of my patients are taking 1 mg of xanax and they are all doing fine. It will cause excess sedation and lead to a a deep sleep. You will not stop breathing with 1mg of xanax. You may even wake up on time and the effect will wane of after 12 hours. At the maximum , you may have some heavy headedness next day morning like a hangover after alcohol. Nothing more will happen.

That was not my question. I take Xanax every night for sleep I know how it works. I was worried about any interaction with the propofil for my colonoscopy this morning
