Question: I want to know if I can stop taking Zoloft after only taking it for only 5 days.

Brief Answer:
Yes, you should be able to quit it at this point.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

5 days is not a long time if its about Zoloft. Your brain receptors have not gotten used to it yet. So you should be able to quit it without any consequences or withdrawal symptoms. But you should discuss it with your doctor.
Starting Zoloft is a hard time. It gives some side effects at the beginning which can make the life harder. But it is worth to last this as after 2-3 weeks of the therapy, this side effect disappear and the drug starts to work.
If you find this side effect too strong for you, maybe it would be better to decrease the dosage instead of quitting it.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
You wont get Xanax addicted so fast.

Detailed Answer:
To become Xanax addicted, you should take it regularly (daily) for 3-4 weeks. But I`m pretty sure, Zoloft side effect will last for 2 weeks and not longer. So during that time you can take Xanax and you wont get addicted to it. Even twice a day.

Can I take something like unisome instead of Xanax to sleep at night?

Answered by Dr. Grzegorz Stanko (1 hour later)
Brief Answer:
Yes, you may try it.

Detailed Answer:
Yes, of course. Anything that will work for you is fine. Unisom is a good choice if it works for you. You may also try Hydroxizine which does not cause the addiction.
