Can A Craniotomy Defect Cause Fluid Retention In The Forehead?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
I should have been more detailed in my question. I also have a feeling of pressure in my head & tightness around my neck. I had 2 brain surgeries, the first 12 months ago & the second 11 months ago. The first was to remove a pineal cyst & the second was to treat infection from the first surgery. Both surgeries were done at the same entry site in the back of my skull. The MRI attached picture is from a 6 month post surgery check up. The CT attached picture is from a few weeks ago. My doctor has ordered another CT with smaller slices but I do not have my appointment yet. The craniotomy plug is moving as it did not integrate with my skull. I'm concerned about the pressure I am feeling, it feels like a symptom I had constantly prior to cyst removal.
Scans do not show any abnormality.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I have noted your past details and current symptoms.
I would like to reassure you that your CT and MRI brain scans do not show any significant abnormality.
It is common to have pressure symptoms after craniotomy, however, you need not worry about that.
Symptomatic treatment with paracetamol may be given, if symptoms are troublesome.
I hope my reply has helped you.
I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.
Best wishes,
