Brief Answer:
A number of intestinal growths can be benign.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.
Have gone through your question and i appreciate your concern,
A tumor(growth or mass) can be cancerous or non-cancerous.
Cancer occurs when abnormal cells in the body grow uncontrollably, preventing normal cells from growing and performing their function.Cancer cells lump together to form a growth called a tumor. But not all tumors are cancerous. To determine whether a tumor is cancerous, a sample of the cells (called a biopsy) is analyzed under a microscope to determine the nature of growth. If the cells are cancerous, the tumor is malignant. If the cells are noncancerous and have normal features, the tumor is benign.
As per your query yes an intestinal growth can be benign in nature.A benign growth is not a malignant tumor, which is cancer. It does not invade nearby tissue or spread to other parts of the body the way cancer can. In most cases, the outlook with benign tumors is very good.
Some of the common intestinal benign growths are leiomyoma, lipomas etc

So don't worry initially biopsy should be done to rule out if growth is benign or malignant.

In case you need any other clarification feel free to ask.

Regards.
