Can Abusing Methamphetamine Cause Risks To The Fetus?
Question: I just found out I was pregnant . I'm guessing maybe 4 weeks...... I have snorted meth , maybe 2 grams if that over this 4 week period. I have stopped completely and I'm fine with doing that without having any major withdrawals. It's never hurt me in the past to just quit.... My question is will this have any effects on the fetus and I go to the doctor in 1 week, will my system be clean by then?
Brief Answer:
Don't worry for your pregnancy
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear and thanks for your query.
Methadone use during early pregnancy doesn't cause any negative side effects such as fetal anomaly or birth defects .
But if you will want to keep this pregnancy you should stop to use methadone because it can cause smaller-than-normal head size, low birth weight, and withdrawal symptoms.
Cleaning of system vary from the period of time you have used and from the dosage of methadone .
Hope I have answered your question and please feel free for further discussion.
Regards
