Can An Old Pack Of BC Pills Be Continued While Having New One?
Question: I am taking a birth control pill, Watson Pharma Low Ogestrel. My prescription order came a few days late, so I was not able to take the first pill of the pack on a Sunday. I followed the directions and took a Wednesday pill when I got the new pack and continued through the first week. The directions for this pill say to throw out the pack I just started one week of, and then begin a new pack, regardless of the fact that it is not Sunday. The issue is that I have timed my period to occur just before I go on vacation. If I start a new pack, it will postpone my period until my vacation. Can I just continue the original pack that I received if I still want my period to be on schedule? If I use another contraceptive method, what if I just stop taking the pill altogether the rest of this month?
