Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Head injury is considered serious and cause of headache only in acute stage and is usually associated with loss of consciousness, seizures, vomiting or any weakness.
Late chances of headache is unlikely.
In case of old age post trauma subdural hematoma can be a cause of headache and require CT scan head to confirm.
Other cause of unilateral headache may be migraine associated with nausea or vomiting, sensitivity to light or sound.
Cluster headache is another type of unilateral headache occurring periodically.
Please give more details about head injury like mode of injury, bleed from nose, ear. How many days back.
Provide details about headache like duration of headache, character like Bursting, throbbing, piercing pulsating?
Associated features?
Sleeping abnormalities, stress?
Also swelling is not related to headache or trauma and need to be examined and evaluated by a physician.
