What are the treatments for blood clotting disorders (clotting too easily) My doctor did blood work for prothrombin, factor v, and the lupus one (anticardio glycoprotein). No genetic blood disorders in family. Unprovoked blood clot a few months ago. Ct scan of chest and abdomen normal. Labs normal except low hemoglobin (mild) and ferritin level very low.?

Medications:
Omeprozole 20mg daily
Sertraline 100 mg daily
Clonazepam
Lisinopril 40mg daily
Warfarin 5mg monday, wednesday and friday and 7.5 mg tuesday, thursday, sat and sun
Probiotic
Ferrous sulfate 10mg orally with orange juice daily
Albuterol inhaler

The clots were found bilaterally in my lungs so obviously pulmonary embolisms. I'm not sure how long they were there but they were found on XXXXXXX 8 of this year and I do know that they were gone as of XXXXXXX 29. The Doppler ultrasound and found no clots in my legs, and the CT of my abdomen was negative for any malignancy or blood clots. I am very obese I would say probably about 200 pounds overweight. I also have high blood pressure, gastric esophageal reflux disease, obesity, depression, asthma, anxiety, anemia, sleep apnea for which I do use a CPAP machine. They also found gall stones and some fatty infiltration in my liver which was very mild. My liver function is normal and my kidney functions are normal. My INR's have been normal within therapeutic range.
As you can imagine this has caused me a lot of stress and anxiety and depression. My fear is that I will have another blood clot.
I'm not able to download my lab results but I can give them specifically to you if there's a certain one that you need.

Brief Answer:
You are on right treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Sorry for the delay in my response.
I have gone through your history and medication and in my opinion you are on right treatment plan.
Usually for pulmonary embolism initially low molecular weight heparin is given to prevent clotting but once One get established patient put on warfarin for 2-3 months( sometimes up to 6 months) .
As in your case you are overweight, in my opinion it is also a one of the factor of clot formation,so it is very important to reduce your weight.
You should walk and do some exercise do the blood circulation maintain and it prevent blood clot formation.
Because rest of your reports are fine do not worry about it.
On warfarin you will not develop clot again.
Hope found useful.
Good luck.

Brief Answer:
Explained below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Sorry for the delay in my response.
For blood clotting disorder usually anticoagulant are given either heparin or warfarin.
As in your case no genetic disorder are detected then there is no specific treatment or anticoagulant required.

Also as you are suffering from high blood pressure and other diseases you should check them under control because these diseases are also responsible for blood clotting. Your physicians can help you keep these condition under control.
So in your case warfarin is sufficient as a anticoagulant therapy.
Hope found useful.
Good luck.
