Last year due to diplopia problem I had a bad fall
Resulting in l4 and l5 bilateral disc injuries
With nerve encroachment left and right nerve encroachment both levels
Since this I have a bladder problem
This is the signs and symptoms
When my bladder fills to a certain point full it overspills for which I have no urge to go to the toilet just urine comes out no voluntary control
Generally however I get a urge and I voluntarily go to the toilet

May need Urodynamics

Hi
It looks like you are not emptying your bladder well. It could be due to the disc problem causing impaired function of bladder. A baseline serum creatinine, uroflowmetry and ultrasound scan may help determine if there are issues auch as bilateral kidney swelling and what is the amount of post void residue. There are drugs like Tamsulosin which might help urine empty out of the bladder well, and drugs like Bethanechol which might get the bladder to empty slightly bette if pressures are low, but eventually you need a test called Urodynamics to know what is the risk to the kidney due to any elevated bladder pressures and whether you need drugs to reduce bladder pressure. On occasions, you might be required to gave a catheter for a few days and later on occasions, but that again will depend on the findings of Urodynamics. This is a slightly complex test where fine catheters are passed into your urinary passage and pressures are determined also from the rectum to know if you are straining to void.
Hope I have been able to guide you.
Best wishes.
Just have no control

What you said is right. Most patients with neurogenic issues of the bladder also have faecal issues. Luckily incontinence is rare. It might improve with timed emptying and use of bulk forming agents, such as husk of Isapgol with or without a suitable laxative such as Lactulose syrup daily at bedtime.
Please let me know once your urodynamic evaluation is done, or if at least the basic ultrasound and blood investigations are ready.
