Can Cranberry Be Used In Cases Of Mild UTI Symptoms?

Question: I am 42 years old and I am on my 7th day after 5 day embryo transfer. I felt I was starting to have a possible UTI since I am peeing a lot and the discomfort of the vaginal progesterone insert that I have to do 3 x a day. I bought some cranberry pills and have taken three pills already since the instructions states to take 3 pills a day with at least an 8 ounce cup of water. I took one cranberry pill last night, one this morning and one during lunch. Not thinking this could be a problem, should I continue taking them or should I stop. Just want to make sure it is safe. I take my HCG blood test in a couple of days and hope to have good news!

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
I understand your concerns.
1. UTI is common during pregnancy. Cranberry can be used in cases of mild UTI symptoms.
2. It is usually considered safe; however, as your case is delicate and we are dealing with in-vitro fertilization; I usually want to make sure that my patients get the safest treatment as possible. So, I advise to discuss its further continuation with your doctor (OG).
Hope it answered to your query!
