Brief Answer:
Cause needs to be addressed

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I understand your concern. A muscle spasm lasting more than 8 months is something that needs further investigation. A short course of a muscle relaxant is usually more than enough to treat a muscle spasm and after such a long time being dependant on medication it is mandatory that the cause should be addressed.
Do you have incorrect posture? What is your sleep quality? What are your sleeping conditions? (uncomfortable or hard mattress, too flat pillow etc) Have you ever had a trauma to the shoulder? Are you depressed or diagnosed with depression?

I need to have this information before being able to advise you further or before being able to suggest an alternative treatment.

Wishing you all the best

I am on medication mentioned from past 15 day only.. initially the pain was not so worse unbearable .. since from past 2 months only pain become worse which affecting my daily activities..

Visited Orthopedic for thrice. And one of them suggested to go for MRI, But I didnt..

Currently am on Medcine tryptometer one for daily before sleep. and Also putting ICepack and hotpack daily twice or thrice which gives relief

I may get into sleep a bit late with pain after that I don't have any issues till I woke up in the morning..

Do I really need to go for MRI scan? I didn't feel any numbness. but some kind of swelling still exists on right side of my back

Brief Answer:
Please see as below

Detailed Answer:
Yes, definitely go for the MRI. Swelling and ongoing pain for so long cannot be explained just by muscle spasm.

The cause needs to be investigated further and MRI is a good start which may also hold the definitive answer. You do not have to continue being on medication as this is clearly not bringing definitive relief.

Please, do let me know the results of the MRI so we can discuss further.

Wishing you good health and all the best.
