Can Gallbladder Disease Cause Acid Reflux?
1) Could this be the cause of acid reflux?
2) Should I expect to have my gallbladder removed because of the polyps? One doctor said it can stay as long as there are no symptoms, another one recommended it come out. What is your opinion?
Better to get it removed to prevent complications in future.

Hi
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic.
As per your query answers are
1) No gall bladder polyp and sludge is usually asymptomatic and is usually not associated with any symptoms, so it's not associated with Acid reflux.
2) Most polyps are benign and do not need to be removed.Polyps larger than 1 cm with co-occurring gallstones occurring in people over the age of 50 may have the gallbladder removed (cholecystectomy), especially if the polyps are several or appear malignant.
Occasionally, cholesterol polyps can slough off and cause biliary colic from cystic duct obstruction or acute pancreatitis by blocking the common bile duct. So, to avoid these complications, it's better to get it removed by a planned surgery.
However initially a Ultra sound abdomen should be done to rule out the size of the polyp.
Thanks!
