Can Gastritis Be Diagnosed Without An Endoscopy?

Question: Can gastritis be diagnosed with out endoscopy? I was told I have gastrits and given dexilant. My symptoms are mild heartburn no naseu or vomiting burning and bubbling stormach. That is what my PCP told me. No h.pylori.

Yes it can be diagnosed with the clinical presentation and examination findings . You clinical presentation is very much suggestive of Gastritis.

Endoscopy will be advised if Gastritis is of longer duration , very severe or not responding to conventional treatment .

But I would recommend you to get H.Pylori test as a part of evaluation for Gastritis.
