Brief Answer:
Arthritis with herbs and spices
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX
Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health concern and following points are worth mentioning prior to Ayurveda management.
1. Arthropathy or any Rheumatic disease is consider under ‘AAM’ [AMA is toxic by product of improper digestion] and in Ayurveda Bones [asthi] are the main site of Vata and when this AMA gets deposited in bones, it combines with Vata to form AAMVATA or SPONDYLOARTHRITIS, so first line of treatment should be to improve digestion so that no further ama is produced.
2. New study from Georgetown University, has shown that drinking tea raises the risk of arthritis since tea leaves have a high level of
fluoride and too much fluoride can cause arthritis and many other ailments. [and since water contains flouride so even brewing will only add to the suffering]
3. Coffee and Black Tea are considered toxic, since they contain caffeine which causes exhaustion of the adrenal gland by continuously secreting Adrenalin and thereby initially producing a steady state of active wellness i.e. "caffeinism" which is later characterized by
fatigue,
anxiety, mood swings, sleep disturbance, irritability and
depression.
4. green tea since contains anti oxidants which are having anti inflammatory properties, helps in reducing inflammation and joint damage.
5. In Ayurveda [in terms of spices/teas] as far as I know, garlic, ginger, ghritakumari [aloe vera] have anti coagulant properties, so they should not b e consumed with modern anti coagulants [aspirin etc] since can increase the risk of bleeding], also chamomile tea, gingko, saw palmetto have the same effect [you may ask your
primary care doctor for any exhaustive list]
6. If you will be advised for
Immunosuppressive therapy make sure to exclude ginseng, yashtimadhu [licorice root], or zinc containing supplements.
7. avoid herbal laxative : sanay/swarnpatri [senna] instead prefer isabgol [pyllium] with plenty of fluids.
hope I have given due consideration in taking up your case, any suggestions are welcome
