Question: I take Effexor 150 mg and Lipitor 40mg every morning. I have a heavy cold at the moment and would like to take two paracetamol 500mg tablets. Is there any reaction between these drugs and would it safe to take the Paracetamol? Thank you, XXXXXX

Brief Answer:
no known interactions

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There are no known interactions between the drugs mentioned. The paracetamol can be safely used.

Paracetamol is metabolised along a different pathway than both the effexor and lipitor so there is no present known risk of reaction occurring.

IF you need to use a decongestant such as pseudoephedrine or phenylephrine to help with any nasal congestion, then one of these can also be used without any interactions.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
