Can I Take Trazodone, Prozac And Klonopin Together?
Question: I take 200mg of trazodone, 20mg of prozac, 4mg of klonopin, 300 mg of serequal xr, and 300 mg of trileptal for my bipolar. And I was wondering how safe all these medications together are. I see a psychiatrist for them, but sometimes they miss something. I have been on 10 mg of prozac and 150mg of trazodone for well over two years. We just increased the dosage on those two medications. Another issue is I have a cold now and don't know what to take. But I am extremely drowsy today. no other issues just wondering if that was normal.
Brief Answer:
Normal
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
The medications you are on are not know to cause any interactions or side effect synergism.
Need not worry, do continue on the dosage and course advised by your doctor.
Try using home remedies like steam inhalation to get rid of the cold. If too severe you can take a dose of CPM which is very least sedating capacity.
Hope, I answered your query.
Wish you good health.
Regards,

Another doctor just told me prozac and trazodone have a serious interaction. I've been on them for years, and we just increased the dosage. I feel groggy but nothing else. He also said there are problems with serequal. Should there be any concerns ? I was prescribedthem so I would think she didn't see an issue.
Brief Answer:
Its rare

Hi,
Thanks for writing back.
Yes, there exists a serious but very rare interaction called serotonin syndrome, which may include symptoms such as confusion, hallucination, seizure.
Since you have been on both the medication since long, I doubt it to occur.
You feeling groggy could be due to the serequal if you have started it recently. Also increasing in the dose of both Trazadone and prozac can be the cause for the same. you may get habituated and the symptoms you have will surely wane over time.
Hope, I answered your query.
Wish you good health.
