Brief Answer:
Incorrect placement will be picked up by expert

Detailed Answer:
hello,
I am Dr.Rajesh Teli,MD.
I have gone through your query. Thanks for using HCM.
yes I agree correct placement of leads while recording ECG is very important.Incorrect placement certainly will gives wrong information about Axis of heart and few other abnormalities. But experienced cardiologist will immediately pick such as technical dextrocardia.More over we correlate ECG findings with clinical history ,X rays.so when there is some lack of correlation we can easily suspect improper lead placement .I can assure that in expert hand it will be picked up,and would be corrected by repeat ECG.It will not affect diagnosis and treatment of patients ,when you are in hand of expert.
I hope I have satisfied your query.
My best wishes

Brief Answer:
It is difficult to comment on First degree block

Detailed Answer:
hello,
It is difficult to opine about first degree AV block ,as it is usually never due to improper placement of leads .if you can send me scan copy of both ECGs,I can guide you properly.I also need information on your clinical history to comment upon it.
My best wishes

The doctors office said they trashed the abnormal ecg due to a false reading but attached is the second ecg they did that read normal
doctor
Answered by Dr. Rajesh Teli (7 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Attached ECG is Normal

Detailed Answer:
hello,
The ECG you have attached is normal and has no evidence of first degree block. Now what went wrong can be decided by the person who recorded the first ECG.So difficult to tell !
Technical errors do occur, but as i mentioned earlier, it is always picked up by expert and before it affects diagnosis it is rectified.
My best wishes
Dr.Teli.
