Can Methanphetamins Cause High Hemoglobin And Low Platelets?
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic
Methamphetamines are psychostimulant.
They are thought to be associated with some changes in the blood chemistry such as a high blood white cell count, this is one of the markers that is most commonly seen.
One researcher also determined that that use of the drug can also be associated with low hemoglobin, low calcium, low potassium, low urea ,increased creatinine (which may indicate kidney disease), increases in some of the markers looking at the liver and low level of thyroid hormone. It may also cause the platelets to stick together and this way cause a lower value.
So yes, in some persons a low hemoglobin and platelet level can be seen
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
