Can One Take Dayquil And Theraflu During Pregnancy?

Question: What is the determination between "short term" vs "long term" when describing otc cold & flu medicine use?
I am 8 weeks preg and I used DayQuil, XXXXXXX seltzer cold & flu and Theraflu during week 6. I never exceed the dosage frequency. I only used one med per day except for Theraflu, I took a total of 3 does, one night tea then one daytime then another night dose but not whithin 4 hours and then I stopped all meds altogether. I am 34 y/o and I am nervous I may have contributed to defects.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome to Health Care Magic forum. Thanks for writing in to us. I have gone through your question and understand your concerns completely. First of all I will advise you to relax. These drugs are not Teratogenic except the use of pseudoephidrine is considered to have some effects bit these are also very less.Since you have taken only 3,doses then there is no greater risk then general population bit for future I will advise you to take medicines with the help of medical practitioner only or take the help of HCM. Again I will ask you to relax as the risk is very very low. Regards Dr Manisha Jain. OBGY Specialist.
