Can Prostate Problems Cause Erectile Dysfunction?

Question: I am a 63 year old male. I have read much on prostate problems affecting me with intimate relations.
Brief Answer:
There may be other consitions
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
I understand your concerns. However, prostate problems are responsible for only a fraction of all cases of erectile dysfunction. Other such conditions include diabetes, kidney disease, multiple sclerosis, atherosclerosis, vascular disease, and alcoholism.
Among prostate problems, benign hyperplasia usually on its own does not cause erectile dysfunction but its treatment can. Prostate cancer or its treatment definitely can cause this. Prostatitis or infection of prostate can also cause this.
I am sure your urologist has looked into all this before prescribing viagra. You can still discuss these points with him.
Hope this helps.
