
Can Protein Supplement Be Consumed After Workout?

Question: I am going regularly gym and want to protien supplyment. Kindly suggest me .

Your body mass index (BMI) is 27.9 (height 165 cm and 76 kg weight) which is slightly on a higher side (normal BMI range is from 18.5-24.9 kg/m).
Choosing right type of diet,supplements with regular workouts would be certainly helpful.
I would suggest you to take when protein supplements without artificial sweeteners like Iso-natural or hardcore whey. Because sweeteners contain high sugar which may increase fat deposition.
Whey protein is good for health as it looses extra fats, preserves muscle mass and reduces the hunger and thereby increases muscle strength.
Apart from whey protein,you should also take 'Omega 3 fatty acids' which are PUFAs (poly unsaturated fatty acids) and are essential fatty acids. Means they cannot be synthesized by the body and have to be included in the diet.
The best sources of omega 3 fatty acids are fish like salmon and for a vegetarians the best sources would seeds like flaxseed, soybean, pumpkins and walnuts. These Omega 3 fatty acids have been recommended commonly to reduce cholesterol level or to maintain blood cholesterol level in blood.
