Brief Answer:
Psoriasis, Seborrheic dermatitis not influence HIV test.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.

Psoriasis and Seborrheic Dermatitis have no effect on HIV antibody test results. They would not extend the window period.
HIV disease can have influence over Psoriasis and Seborrheic dermatitis.
Sometimes treatment of certain types of Psoriasis (Long term steroids, Methotrexate, Cyclosporin) can have influence on the window period and likely to delay the results of the HIV test.

How accurate hiv antibody test after 80 days. Second value increased from .07 to .35.what does means.cut off value 1
doctor
Answered by Dr. Sankaranantham Murugan (2 hours later)
Brief Answer:
HIV antibody test at 80 days is highly reliable.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.

HIV window period is around 6-8 weeks and it may be in some individuals extended up to 12 weeks. So your negative HIV antibody test at 80 days is highly reliable. But becomes more conclusive around 90 days.

Anything below '1' (cut off) value is negative, immaterial whether it was 0.07 or 0.35. Number has not directly related to intensity of the test anyway. So not to get confused.
