Swelling In Right Collar Bone, 20mm In Mantoux Test, On Amoxycillin. Cause Of Swelling ?
My son who is 5 yrs old is having swelling in his right collar bone. We have taken blood tests, mantoux test. In mantoux he is having about 20 mm. But we got negative in the TB test. Now our doctor suggested for Amoxycillin antibiotic but still he is having the swelling... Would you please help me with this? What causes this swelling for him?
Swelling in the region of right collar bone may be due to many reasons. First we have to confirm about bony origin of the swelling. If it is bony, then X-ray of the right clavicle bone should be taken.Proper history should be taken, weather it is painful or not ,duration of swelling and history of trauma.
If it is in soft tissue ,then it may be due to enlarged glands, may be due to infection also. so, your son should be properly examined by a pediatrician
Take care
