Can Sex Stimulate The Uterine Contractions Process?

Question: Hi My Girlfrind is due 9/1 her Dr just told us that she is not showing any contractions yet. so they are setting a 9/3 date to induce the process with petosin should she not start labor before.. She is a bit older...process has been pretty natural, with no issues so far.

so, can sex stimulate the contraction process? is it advised, or not at this time?

alsu. they said she has a 40% chance of needing a cesarian delivery... if they have to induce, does that chance go up?

Thanks for the query to hcm,
If the due date is 1st september then your wife should be 38 weeks plus as of now, considering Naegles forma for 40 weeks ( 9 months + 7 days) . She should start labour in the coming weeks naturally and may have a rupture of membranes anytime soon.
The idea of sex stimulating uterine contractions can be harmful for the baby and shouldn't be attempted at all. If there is a delay beyond 40 weeks + 3 days then induction should be done as the main consideration in post diatoms is the size of the foetal head and baby's growth which often causes obstructed labour and cephalopelvic disproportion, not allowing a vaginal delivery. Hence your physician said that there is a 40 percent chance of c-section then.
ideally a delivery should not be allowed to go beyond 40 weeks + 3 days as the baby is matured enough and induction can be started at this time. There is no fair advantage in extending the pregnancy to 42 weeks leading to post datism and then resorting to delivery complications and c-section. The larger the baby grows , the lesser the chances of normal vaginal delivery.
neatly induction of labour per se doesn't increase the chance of c-section, it is completely guided by the progress of labour during induction and descent of the baby. If the head is floating and not fixed even till now then there is a cephalon-pelvic disproportion and chances would be that c-section would be inadvertent. But if the parameters have been under limits then induction does fit the protocol if she doesn't go in labour naturally.

Yes , no sex advised at this time for the purpose of initiating labour contractions as that may not happen.
Let the delivery occur , because sex may cause rupture of membranes and there may be chances of infection ascending into the uterus after rupture of membrane, Hence to be avoided.

Well that can be done but that shall still not initiate frequent regular uterine contractions which is the sine quo non of labour. The uterus may get stimulated and may contract just like XXXXXXX hick contractions and they shall die down, not amounting to labour, so advisable no to try any such methods.

Well from medical point of view it is not advisable at all. if labour has to start then it shall start naturally.
