Can Sinus Drainage Cause A Choking Sensation?

Question: I feel as though I'm being choked on and off all day for weeks now. It's getting worse and making it difficult to sleep. It's as if when I swallow, my throats stays closed. I'm not sure if it's sinus drainage. Can you help?

Take an antacid regularly for few days.
Avoid any spicy foods and aerated drinks.
