Question : Can stiff neck be a symptom of heart diseise
Brief Answer:
Rarely occurring... ECG/echocardiogram to rule out heart disease...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Stiff neck is involving the muscles located in the cervical area of spinal cord.
Most common causes include:
- muscle strain
- osteoarthrosis
Heart disease is mostly associated with pain in the chest or back or numbness in the arm.
If pain killers used orally and locally together with heating pads and massage are helping, then, the stiff neck is due to non-cardiac issues.
However, I advise to run ECG and echocardiogram to rule out any possible heart disease.
Wish fast recovery!
