Can Sutures Be Removed Within 2 Weeks After A Medial Malleolar Screw Implant?

Question: my medial malleolus screw implant was removed 4 days back with 2 stitches on the surgical site
doc said he will remove stitches after 2 weeks
my ankle feels fine and strong now
but im finding it hard to bath without spilling water on ankle cos of sutures. can i have sutures removed earlier

I have studied your case and I can see that your wound is good. I would suggest you to apply water proof dressing over then wound. This will help in faster healing. And water will not move in side. Suture removal should be done as late as possible as some time it can cause wound gaping.

Water proof dressing is called Tegaderm and it is available at medical shops which keeps surgical items like bandage, IV fluids. Any big hospital have these shops. So you can get it from there and apply it over your wound. After that putting water will not harm your wound.
