Can Taking Nurokind Shots For Long Term Cause Kidney Issues?
I have B12 deficiency. My doctor suggested me to take Nurokind+ injections for almost an year and I took. B12 went up to healthy levels (around 1200) and the doctor asked me to stop, and ensure I eat appropriate food to keep B12 at healthy levels. But after 5 months, B12 levels dropped to 550 and i consulted the doctor again. Doctor asked me to take Nervup Forte tablets if I feel tired. After few months, i started taking Nervup Forte tablets (1 tablet a day for 10 days in a month). I have the following queries:
a. My doctor mentioned that long-term use of Nurokind+ will result in Kidney issues and hence not recommended. Is this true?
b. Each Nervup Forte tablet has 500 mcg of methylcobalamin and each Nurokind+ injection has 500mcg of methylcobalamin. Does this mean 1 tablet of Nervup = 1 injection of Nurokind?
c. I felt comfortable in taking 1 nurokind+ injection a month and my body was healthy. Can I go back to taking 1 injection per month instead of tablets?
Thanks in advance for your answer
Methylcobalamin doesn't cause kidney problems.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. a) Methylcobalamin doesn't cause any kidney problems even if taken for long term.It is also considerably safe than cyanocobalamin. So that is not true. Other effects are not effectively studied. Some studies shows that excess intake can cause optic nerve atrophy. So better not to take in excess.
b) 1 tablet nervup is not equivalent to injection of nurokind. Injection will supply 100 % of contents in to circulation. But in case of oral tablets it is absorbed partly only.
c) you can take one injection per month and take tablets once in 3 days. 1 injection alone won't be sufficient for 1 montth.
If you are a vegetarian you need to continue B12 supplements as b12 is hardly there in vegetarian foods. If you are non vegetarian then taking meat , chicken or eggs will help you to get b12 and you can avoid b12 supplements.
Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
