Can The Use Of Primrose Oil Capsules Lead To Delayed Periods?

Question: Dear docter,
I have been regular with my menses last 6 months. My cycle is a 28-30 day cycle. My last menstrual cycle was on 24th may 2015 and it lasted for 5 days. My only trouble was severe pms which included severe painful and swollen breast before 8 days my menses arrives. So i took primrose oil capsules 500 mg once daily for almost a month. Now I have missed my periods. I had experienced severe cramping and very slight spotting on 22nd XXXXXXX which disappeared next day. I am not sexually active for last 3 months. Hane my periods delayed due to primrose oil? What can i do now. I am worried.

Brief Answer:
You should stop taking it.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting hcm about your health care.
I can understand your concerns.
Yes, it is true that your period maybe delayed due to primrose oil.
So stop it now and wait and watch for your menses.
As you are not sexually active the chances of pregnancy are not there in your case.
I know primrose oil is helpful in PMS but you can start taking healthy and nutritious diet, non spicy food, some yoga and meditation which is also helpful in premenstrual symptoms.
Hope it is useful, feel free to ask more questions.
Regards
