Brief Answer:
No active intervention/Nail avulsion

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX
Thank you for posting on HCM.
It seems you have developed splinter hemorrhage of nail due to trauma from hiking trip.
Nail bed is richly supplied by tiny blood capillaries and any trauma can rupture those capillaries leading to collection of blood underneath nail called Splinter Haemorrhage.

Usually, Splinter haemorrhage dont require any treatment and resolve on its own with time.
Sometimes secondary infection sets in which warrant active intervention.

Fro your case, I suggest if there is no complains like pain, tenderness then you can wait and watch or otherwise consult a dermatologist for total nail avulsion so that the nail bed can be cleaned propery.

Let me know if there are any more queries from your side.
Hope you find the answer helpful.
Thank you and take care,
Dr Hardik Pitroda
