Brief Answer:
Prognosis is good, continue good diabetes control!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this splinter hemorrhage reported and all the disturbing thoughts this has caused you. I must congratulate you and the entire medical team on the good diabetic control. Having an A1C of 5.2 as a diabetic is not common.

Splinter hemorrhages are minor blood extravasation from the vessels in the retinal. If your vision is okay and with this excellent A1C value, then this is most likely a benign finding and would have no implication on the overall functioning of the eyes.

Remember diabetes can greatly affect the eyes. For this reason, maintain an excellent diabetes management and also endeavor to always have your yearly eye examinations.

In all, this has a good prognosis and with no other symptoms and a well controlled diabetes, there is no further reason to get worried.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
