Question: Hello, my girlfriend has been diagnosed with an "ureaplasma urealyticum" infection. i took a urine test and the test results came back negative for "leukocyte esterase." Should i be retested to see if i could be passing the infection to her?

Brief Answer:
Ureaplasma Urealyticum infection It is very uncommon in men.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query based on the facts that you have posted your girlfriend has beeen detected to have Ureaplasma Urealyticum infection .

This organism can exist as normal commensal flora in the reproductive tract (especially in women) and remain undetected unless specifically tested for.

It is very uncommon to have Ureaplasma Urealyticum infection in males .Hence there are very remote chances of you passing this infection to her through sexual contact.

However if you are very curious to know about it you may ask your urologist to get this highly specific test done to be rest assure about it .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
