Brief Answer:
deplin does not have i
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
Deplin contains L-methylfolate which is just a folic acid supplement.
It does not have a drug interaction with prozac.
I do not think deplin should be the reason for your symptoms of excessive sleepiness.
I am just curious why did the doctor started you deplin.?
There must be a reason why was another drug given to you when you were responding to prozac only.
Hope this helps. Take care.
Thanks

About 10 yrs ago I was diagnosed with depression. That is when i started the awful world of antidepressants. Well about 6 months ago i was diagnosed with ADHD. I am a heavy women but i talked ALOT. I was told there were several strands of ADHD. I did very well on strattera for a few months noticed a decline. I went in again and they did a swab. When it came back i was told i had MTHFR. Deplin was then given to me.
I was doing fine with just Prozac till about 2 yrs ago. When my husband noticed i was going down hill again. I was completely against another antidepressant. I have had enough of the joke.
There has to be an underlying reason for depression. I know a lot of depression comes from my weight gain and the constant forgetting things.

Brief Answer:
dose increment of prozac.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Sorry for the late response.
Although Deplin has claimed to be useful in resistant depression, the efficacy is doubtful.
MTHFR deficiency has not been strongly linked to depression.
I would recommend a dose increment of prozac (under doctor's supervision). I feel your symptoms are more suggestive of relapse of depression.
You can continue with deplin as it has no drug interaction with prozac.
For controlling weight gain, you can consider some lifestyle modifications like brisk walk for 30 minutes each day and avoiding fatty food.
Forgetting things may be a symptom of depression or just due to lack of concentration.
Paying attention over the things you do will help to improve memory.
Hope I have addressed all the issues satisfactorily.
Feel free to ask further.
Thanks.
